PBKS vs RR, IPL 2023: List of Impact Players in today's match
The Rajasthan Royals (RR) have won the toss and chose to bowl first against the Punjab Kings (PBKS) at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium on Friday, May 19.
RR suffered a massive jolt ahead of the game, with Ravichandran Ashwin missing out due to a spasm. Navdeep Saini has been introduced into the playing XI. PBKS, on the other hand, have retained the same side that lost to the Delhi Capitals.
Here is the list of the Impact Player subs in today's match:
Punjab Kings: Nathan Ellis, Sikandar Raza, Rishi Dhawan, Matthew Short, and Mohit Rathee.
Rajasthan Royals: Dhruv Jurel, Donovan Ferreira, Akash Vasisht, Kuldeep Sen, and Murugan Ashwin.
Speaking at the toss, RR skipper Sanju Samson stressed the need to play good cricket to beat Punjab.
"We're going to bowl first," Sanju said. "Looking at the dimensions of the ground and requirements at this point of the tournament. To be honest, we have to win the game first of all. We have to respect the game, respect the opponent."
"If you want to play good T20 cricket, you have to be really good at forgetting things," he added. "We've had 4-5 days off and are trying to go about it nicely. When you start the game, you have to go back to basics and understand the conditions."
PBKS skipper Shikhar Dhawan, on the other hand, predicted that the wicket will remain the same with dew not expected to play a part.
"It's going to be a good wicket throughout, so it doesn't matter much with dew not playing a part," Dhawan said. "We want to enjoy the game and keep the process going. We want to give it our best shot and end on a high note. We have to look to take more wickets in the first six overs."
