Phil Simmons to seek legal action
Phil Simmons who was the head coach of the West Indies until he was recently sacked in a shock move by the West Indies Cricket Board has decided to seek legal advice in the next few days, regarding the whole situation.
Simmons, who was a former West Indies player himself, was sacked with half of his tenure still remaining despite the fact that West Indies had won the ICC World T20 for the second time and were also coming off a T20 series win against India.
“Phil is currently in the UK and is supposed to meet his lawyers within the next 72 hours. His next course of action would be influenced by the advice they give," a confidant of Simmons told The Telegraph on Saturday.
He has also refused to make any comment regarding his forced exit, at a time he was preparing to travel to the UAE ahead of the West Indies' series with Pakistan, till he's interacted with his lawyers.

The reason for his sacking has not been revealed yet, by the WICB, but it is widely believed that he was sacked as he supported the players’ feud with the board, and he was standing up for what he thought was right for West Indies cricket. The WICB has always been against players or staff who have had a feud with them or did not believe in a particular policy of theirs.
"Can't say... Everything happened so suddenly," a member of the West Indies' management team, said from the UAE.
In a shocking revelation, it was also learnt that the player’s themselves heard about the sacking just as they were about to board their flight to the United Arab Emirates to take on Pakistan.
The players surprisingly did not show much emotion. “Outwardly, nobody showed any emotion, but some of the players would have talked among themselves," the member of the management team explained.
Phil Simmons played cricket in the 1980s and 90s for a number of first-class sides in the West Indies and England, as well as international cricket for the West Indian cricket team. He was voted a Wisden Cricketer of the Year in 1997.
