Piers Morgan takes dig at Indian Twitter users, tweets about who Sachin Tendulkar follows
Much has been said about India’s medal tally at the Rio Olympic Games by people from foreign countries as well as Indians. After British journalist Piers Morgan’s controversial comment a few days ago, he made another statement which mentions the name of India’s most celebrated sportsman Sachin Tendulkar.
Morgan, in his tweet, spoke about who Sachin follows on the social networking site and informed that he was one of them. Great Britain’s Olympic contingent performed extraordinarily well in Rio and finished at the second spot in the overall medal tally behind the Unite States of America. On the contrary, India with its largest ever contingent managed to bag only two medals during the two weeks in the South American nation.

It is very pleasing to see Legendary Australian spinner Shane Warne defend India amidst the cyber brawl. The ‘King of Spin’ said that there have been enough talks about India’s medal tally and also showed concern for his “Indian friends”.
India and Pakistan may share a bitter rivalry inside the 22-yards but a Pakistani journalist named Mazher Arshad slammed Piers Morgan and took his neighbouring countries’ side. He interrogated whether successful Olympic nations like the United States of America and China can produce great batsman like Sachin Tendulkar.

After a long wait, India finally broke the deadlock in the final days of the Games and won a Bronze medal by an inspiring show from wrestler Sakshi Malik. It was followed by yet another excellent individual performance by shuttle P.V.Sindhu who became a star overnight winning the first Olympic Silver medal by an Indian in Badminton.
In the latest development of events, Indian author Chetan Bhagat was also involved in a heated exchange of words with Morgan as the former misspelt the England journalist’s name and was slammed by him for the careless deed.
