Players who can make it to the 2014 T20 World Cup
As team India is getting ready for the T20 World Cup 2014 to be held in Bangladesh, BCCI will look to bring some big T20 match winners into the team. So let’s take a look at the top players who will try to make it to the Indian Team.
Batsman
Robin Uthappa
Robin Uthappa is a clean striker of the ball and has six 50’s in the Indian Premier League. He holds the record of second fastest 50 in IPL. He scored it in 19 balls, smashing 4 fours and 4 sixes. He has smashed 59 sixes and 137 fours in IPL, at an average of 27.32, making him one of the most successful T20 batsman in India.
Murali Vijay
Murali Vijay is an attacking opening batsman who opens for Chennai Super Kings in IPL. He has five 50’s and two 100’s in Indian Premier League. He has smashed 58 sixes and 113 fours in IPL and has an average of 26.28 in the IPL. He is the first and only Indian cricketer to score two centuries in IPL. He has the record of second highest score by a batsman in IPL i.e. 127. These makes him one of the best T20 players.
Paul Valthaty
Paul Valthaty is an explosive opening batsman who play for Kings XI Punjab in IPL. He has two 50’s and a hundred in Indian Premier League. He smashed 120* off 63 balls against Chennai Super Kings. He has 59 fours and 20 sixes in IPL at an average of 246.5. He holds the record of third highest score by a batsman in IPL i.e. 120. He is one of the best hitters in India.
Bowling
Rudra Pratap Singh
R P Singh is a left arm medium pacer who has the ability to swing the ball both ways. He was the most economical bowler in the inaugural T20 World Cup in 2007 and also bowled the most dot balls in 2007 T20 World Cup. He has taken 74 wickets in IPL. In his second season of IPL, he won the purple cap. This makes him one of the best T20 bowlers in India.
Rahul Sharma
Rahul Sharma is a right hand leg break and googly bowler. He has the ability to put batsmen in trouble with his pace variation and googlies. He has taken 30 wickets in IPL. His bowling figures of 4-0-7-2 were the most economical bowling figures in 2011 IPL. He has played two T20 for India and taken 3 wickets.
Iqbal Abdulla
Iqbal Abdulla is an orthodox spin bowler. He has taken 21 wickets in Indian Premier League. He was the part of Indian U19 team for a tri series in Sri Lanka. In 2011 IPL, Abdulla took 16 wickets playing for Kolkata Knight Riders at an economy rate of 6.10. He was given “Emerging Player Of IPL 2011” award.

Yusuf Pathan
Yusuf Pathan is a right handed explosive batsman who can hit the ball all over the ground. He has six 50’s and a hundred in IPL. He has 81 sixes and 123 fours in IPL and has also taken 36 wickets in IPL. He has the record of fastest century in IPL after he scored 100 in just 37 balls which included a record 11 consecutive hits to the boundaries. He has played 57 ODIs for India and scored 810 runs with two 100’s and three 50’s. He has also taken 33 wickets.
