The Tamil Nadu-born wicket-keeper batsman currently plays for Assam in the domestic circuit.

He represented Tamil Nadu for six seasons (2008-2013) before moving onto Assam in 2014. Arun Karthik began his IPL stint career with the Chennai Super Kings in 2010 when he was bought by them at the auctions after a stellar domestic season with the bat for Tamil Nadu.

Though he a part of the squad that won the title in 2010, he did not get enough opportunities to prove himself at the biggest stage of all.

He played just one game for MS Dhoni's men throughout the third season, in which he scored three runs.

After the forgettable stint in 2010, he was released by Chennai prior to the 2011 auctions where he was bought by the Royal Challengers Bangalore.

He shot to fame for RCB, not in the IPL, but in the 2011 Champions League T20 when he scored the winning six against the Australian side, Southern Redbacks to seal the semi-final spot.

Karthik played three seasons for RCB (2011-2013) and is currently captaining the Tamil Nadu Premier League side, Madurai Supergiant.
