The purest form of the game, Test cricket, has seen numerous changes over the years. One of the major changes was the introduction of protective equipment. As a result, the batsmen got more and more fearless and run scoring became comparatively easier. And that is probably one of the key reasons why the holders of most batting records are held by batsmen of the 90s and 2000s era onwards.

Out of the many records, the record with most hundreds for each nation is also held mostly by players belonging to the above mentioned era. Here we look at the players with most Test hundreds for each nation.


India - Sachin Tendulkar (51)

Sachin Tendulkar, the holder of most batting records, holds the record of most Test hundreds in international cricket. With 51 hundreds, he remains the only batsman in the world to score fifty or more Test hundreds. His 51 centuries have come from a total of 329 innings, which is 6.45 innings per hundred.

Former skippers Rahul Dravid and Sunil Gavaskar stand second and third in the list with 36 and 34 hundreds respectively. Dravid has a rate of 7.88 innings per hundred while Gavaskar took 6.29 innings for each hundred.

One of the best batsman of his generation, the Kiwi skipper leads from the front with his bat. Kane Williamson surpassed the legendary Martin Crowe and now has the most Test hundreds for his side with 19 hundreds. With 19 tons from 125 innings, Kane has scored a hundred every 6.57 innings.

The next two in the list includes Martin Crowe and Ross Taylor, with 17 hundreds each. While Crowe has scored a hundred every 7.70 innings, Taylor has done so every 9.47 innings.
