Playing in front of the Chennai crowd was exhilarating, says Akshay Srinivas

Akshay feels their fielding in the previous match was a bit patchy

Lyca Kovai King’s Akshay Srinivas opens up before their match-up against Tuti Patriots in the TNPL 2016.

Will M Vijay be available for tomorrow’s game?

Akshay: We’re not sure as he has a slight wrist injury.

Do you think this is the best chance to beat Albert TUTI Patriots in the absence of Dinesh Karthik?

Akshay: I don’t think it plays a major part. We stick to our strengths and there are slight alterations in our plans. They have a good line-up even without Dinesh Karthik. I think they have a formidable team but that won’t change our plans.

Have you worked on your fielding after the last game?

Akshay: There were lot of positives in the last game also. Fielding was a little patchy — I won’t say very bad. In important situations we were let down by our fielding but there were positives in the last game. So we will take that and move forward.

Your bowling seems strong, your thoughts on the performance in the last game?

Akshay: Bowling is generally very strong. We have good all-rounders in Harish and MK anna. We have a good bowling unit. Also Syed (Mohammaed) Bhai wasn’t used much because a left-hander was batting. He’s also a very good bowler and we have a good attack.

How did you’ll bounce back after the tough loss in the first game?

Akshay: There are lot of positives. We would have liked to win but that’s how the game plays.

What are your thoughts on the Chennai fans?

Akshay: It was exhilarating. The experience was new for me. I haven’t played in front of a live crowd so it was very nice.
