We have a powerhouse of a batting line-up, says Yuvraj Singh
Indian middle-order left handed batsman Yuvraj Singh said that Indian team has a great batting line-up, with a lot of match winners in it.
Yuvraj also said that the Indian bowlers will find it hard to restrict runs because of the new fielding rules of having five fielders in the 30-yard circle. And he is also hopeful that the Indian bowlers will do well in the ICC World Twenty20 2014 in Bangladesh.
“Our bowlers have had a problem of restricting the opposition since five fielders inside the circle rule has come, but T20 will be a different format and I am hopeful that they will do well,” Yuvraj said.
“We have players who can really do well in the last five to 10 overs. I, Mahi [Mahendra Singh Dhoni], Suresh Raina, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli are all capable of winning matches. We have a powerhouse of a line-up,” Yuvraj added.
Yuvraj Singh referred to the match against arch-rivals Pakistan on 21st March 2014 as a “cracker of a contest”.
“It will be great entertainment as Indo-Pak match will be a cracker of a contest,” Yuvraj said.
Yuvraj is also working hard on his left-arm slow bowling, so that he can contribute with both bat and ball as he has done in the World Cup 2011.
“I have been working hard on my bowling and would like to deliver during the World Cup,” says Yuvraj.
Yuvraj also spoke highly about his state team skipper Harbhajan Singh, who is currently not in the national squad. “The entire Punjab team looks up to Bhajji. Anyone who has played 100 Tests and has taken 400 plus wickets is a legend of the game,” he said.
Yuvraj also feels that the Punjab team needs a bit more improvement in the next season as they are committing similar mistakes. “We are repeating some of our mistakes again and again. Hopefully, we would come good next season. Manpreet Gony has had a very good season. Gurkeerat Mann also had a good season,” he concluded.
