Praveen Kumar given the green light to resume playing
The BCCI has finally lifted the suspension on Indian medium-pacer Praveen Kumar, saying that any misconduct henceforth will not be tolerated.
After pleading guilty in February, the BCCI has finally decided to let player continue playing, giving him a stern censure not to do anything like that ever again.
A BCCI official said “BCCI has lifted the suspension and the president has decided to let Praveen off with a warning this time. The members felt that the month-long suspension was punishment enough. He had missed domestic games.” He went on to say “Praveen has been told in no uncertain terms that any kind of misbehavior henceforth will not be tolerated.”
Having played six Tests and 68 ODIs, Praveen has constantly abused fellow Indian bowler, Ajitesh Argal. Also, during a match between ONGC and Income Tax, Praveen made several intimidating advances despite being given many warnings by the on-field umpire. He was charged with a fine his entire match fee by Dhananjay Singh, who was the match referee. Mr. Singh also sent a latter to the board stating that Praveen was ‘mentally unfit’.
