Predicting the top 5 most expensive uncapped buys of IPL 2025 Auction
#5 Rasikh Dar
A young talented pacer from Jammu & Kashmir, Rasikh Salam Dar could be among the uncapped players who will garner significant attention at the auction. Playing for Delhi Capitals in IPL 2024, he picked up nine wickets from eight games but was on the expensive side with an economy of 10.97.
However, the 24-year-old seems to have redeemed himself with a solid showing at the recently concluded Emerging Asia Cup, where he picked up nine wickets in four matches. Rasikh could prove to be a valuable third pacer option, who can also bowl at the death.
#4 Nehal Wadhera
Nehal Wadhera, 24, is a left-handed batter many teams will have an eye on. He has performed well in domestic cricket but mainly shot to fame during the 2023 IPL, where he had a decent season, scoring 241 runs with a strike-rate of 145.18.
Although he did not have a great 2024 season for the Mumbai Indians, he slammed a quickfire 24-ball 49 against Rajasthan Royals in one of the matches. Wadhera had a fairly decent 2023/24 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy as well, where he scored 128 runs from four innings at an average of 64 and a strike-rate of 162.
#3 Angkrish Raghuvanshi
An immensely talented and young right-handed batter making a name for himself, Angkrish Raghuvanshi is expected to be among the top uncapped buys at the IPL 2025 auction. He was India's leading run-getter at the 2022 Under-19 World Cup with 278 runs from six innings.
Playing for the Kolkata Knight Riders last season, he impressed with a brilliant half-century and scored 163 runs from 10 innings with a strike-rate of 155.23. The 20-year-old can provide firepower at the top of the order and is among India's top-rising talents.
#2 Ashutosh Sharma
Teams looking for a solid middle and lower middle-order batting option would certainly go after Ashutosh Sharma. The 26-year-old played for Punjab Kings in the last IPL and although he did not score many runs, he impressed with his ability to play fearless cricket and take the attack to the opposition bowlers.
Ashutosh maintained a strike-rate of 167.25. He has played 26 T20 matches so far and has scored 608 runs with a strike-rate of 187.07. He could add immense value to any team's batting order and will be on the radar of several franchises at the upcoming auction.
#1 Vaibhav Arora
Right-arm pacer Vaibhav Arora played a key role in Kolkata Knight Riders' victory last season. He grabbed 11 wickets and provided able support to Harshit Rana and Mitchell Starc.
While he is known to swing the ball both ways early on, his ability to bowl at hard lengths with a decent pace makes him a solid fast bowling option. He is capable of picking up wickets in the powerplay and with several teams looking to rebuild their bowling attacks, Arora is sure to be among the hot targets at the auction.
