IPL 6: Match 71 – PWI vs DD- A Statistical Preview

In the five matches played between these two franchises, Delhi Daredevils have a 3-1 win-loss ratio against Pune Warriors India (One fixture between these two teams was washed out in 2011).

When the two teams met earlier in the season, DD posted 164 runs on the board thanks to David Warner’s unbeaten 51, and then restricted PWI to 149 for four, thus registering victory by 15 runs.

Pune Warriors’ victory over Kolkata Knight Riders earlier this week was only their third victory in their last 24 matches.

Mahela Jaywardene has been one of the biggest disappointments of the season for Daredevils, and has been striking the ball at a lethargic rate of 105.66 despite getting plenty of opportunities to bat in the top order.

Warriors’ Aaron Finch and Robin Uthappa are the most successful opening pair in IPL this season; they have amassed 568 runs in 13 innings at an average of 43.69.

PWI have the worst economy rate of all the teams this season – 8.20. On the other hand, Delhi Daredevils have picked up the fewest wickets of all teams – 71.

What’s next in store for teams: This will be the end of the road for both the teams as far as IPL 2013 is concerned. Surely the players, support staff and fans of both teams will want to quickly forget this season and hope for a much improved performance the next year.
