Rahul Dravid – A wall spread beyond the borders

Ashton Agar, the young Australian bowler, who shot to new heights of fame in the Ashes, has appreciated the great wall of India – Rahul Dravid.

Ashton is among the few young cricketers who have achieved such a star status in a short span of time. Incidentally, Ashton Agar created a world record when he scored 98 runs while playing for Australia against England in his first match of the Ashes. And he is just 19 years of age. Appreciation coming from this very young Australian player really speaks a lot about the icon status of Dravid.

Rahul Dravid is one of the most popular cricketers among the media and he always draws attention whenever he speaks. A true gentleman, who is sober, soft spoken and contented, Dravid has been a heart throb of millions of fans across the globe.

For Ashton, Dravid is a wonderful batsman. Ashton said that he has learnt a lot from Dravid.

Ashton is currently touring India and is playing for the Perth Scorchers in the Champions League. He is planning to meet his hero and intends to take a few tips for improving his batting. An excited Ashton said that it is always a pleasure to learn from a great cricketer and it would be fun playing against Dravid during the Champions League.

Perhaps, like Ashton, Dravid has got a lot of young admirers worldwide. This is because of his composure and commitment. His simplicity and positive attitude have helped him throughout his career.

Apart from these qualities, Dravid has shown the courage to stand up against the wrongdoings in the world of cricket. Incidentally, the tainted cricketers who were involved in spot fixing were part of Rajasthan Royals – a team led by Dravid. However, Dravid took no time to be vocal and demand immediate action against the wrongdoers. He has also not been afraid of commenting against the BCCI, whenever the need has arisen.

Time and again, he has stated that Test cricket is the pinnacle. T20 is a fun format, but the primary form of the game is the Tests. He has stood firm on his opinion. He has been very honest and brave in circulating his ideas. He has also been very active in promoting social causes such as anti-tobacco campaign. He has also been advocating that cricket should remain a clean sport.
