Rain halts Bangladesh-India Test

Bangladeshi ground staff cover the playing field as rain comes during the second day

Fatullah (Bangladesh), June 12 (IANS) The skies opened up just after lunch was taken on Day Three of the lone cricket Test between India and Bangladesh at the Khan Shaheb Osman Ali Stadium here on Friday.

After an uninterrupted morning session, heavy showers lashed the ground, forcing the players to stay inside the pavilion after lunch.

India were at 398/3 at lunch with Murali Vijay (144 not out) and Ajinkya Rahane (55 not out) at the crease.

Rain led to the curtailment of play on Day 1 and washed out the second day's play.
