Suresh Raina completes a decade in International cricket
New Delhi, July 30 (IANS) Indian cricketer Suresh Raina on Thursday completed a decade in international cricket. He made his debut at the age of 20 on July 30, 2005, against Sri Lanka in Dambulla in One-Day Internationals (ODI).
"It has been a really exciting journey for me completing a decade in international cricket. I would like to thank my family, Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), selectors, teammates, friends and fans for making this unbelievable journey incredible. I am happy the way I have paced my career so far and I will continue to give my best to bring all the laurels to the country," said Raina.
The left-handed batsman had a forgettable international debut when he was found leg before wicket for a duck.
Till date, he has played 218 ODIs in which he has scored 5,500 runs including five centuries and 35 half-centuries with a strike rate of 93.80. Raina has also played 18 Tests and 44 Twenty20 Internationals.
The middle-order batsman is the only Indian to have scored centuries in all three formats of the game. He was also the part of the 2011 World Cup winning team.
