IPL 2014: Rajasthan Royals stick to fundamentals during practice
With the much awaited India leg of IPL 7 ready to begin on Friday, teams are brushing up on their batting, bowling and fielding skills in the nets. However, it was seen that Rajasthan Royals who are placed at number 3 on the points table, resorted to traditional methods of practice at the Feorz Shah Kotla with no bowling machines or other equipments.
RR are to play Delhi Daredevils on Saturday. Guided by team mentor Rahul Dravid, RR decided to stick to fundamentals at the nets on Friday. RR chose to go for the basic training method as Ben Cutting, Ajinkya Rahane, Stuart Binny and James Faulkner took to nets for some knock downs. On the other hand, all-rounder Steven Smith went for a jog around the ground while the bowlers continued to have their bowling training in the nets.
Coming back to India after a dramatic match against KKR, RR looks strong and positive with its morale high.
With captain Shane Watson and players such as Rahane, Richardson, Faulkner, Smith, Binny and Rajat Bhatia who have made useful contributions for the team, RR look promising for the next phase of the tournament.
With the presence The Wall Rahul Dravid, the team will make sure it concentrates on a simple, traditional approach rather than anything extravagant.
