Rajkot-based IPL franchise named Gujarat Lions, unveil logo and captain
The Rajkot based IPL franchise's name and logo has just been unveiled. The team will be named Gujarat Lions. Suresh Raina has been appointed as the captain and former Australian player Brad Hodge will be coaching the team.

Keshav Bansal, owner of Intex, held the unveiling of the name, logo, and names of the captain and coach at a press conference in New Delhi.
The 9th edition of the Indian Premiere League will begin on 9th April, 2016. The Gujarat Lions have Brendon McCullum, New Zealand captain in their team. But he was passed in favour of Suresh Raina. The team also includes stars such as Ravindra Jadeja, Dwyane Bravo and James Faulkner.
The Gujarat Lions will join the Rising Pune Super Giants as a new franchise in the current edition of the IPL.

Brad Hodge is currently playing in the MCL. He has played the role of an assistant coach and a player for the Adelaide Strikers in the Big Bash League
Coach Hodge has ample experience in the IPL. He has played for three IPL franchises: Kolkata Knight Riders, Kochi Tuskers Kerala and Rajasthan Royals. He holds the distinction of being the first batsman to score 5000 runs in T20 cricket. Over the course of his career he has played 250 first class matches and 250 T20 matches as well.
Hodge had listed his name in the IPL auction for INR 5,000,000 but he withdrew it later.
