Ramdin left out of West Indies squad for Guyana ODI's against Pakistan
The West Indies Board’s selection panel dropped the under-performing wicketkeeper/ batsman Dinesh Ramdin for the Guyana leg of the ODI’s series against Pakistan starting July 14, Sunday. The rest of the squad remained unchanged from the ODI series in Trinidad.
With Ravi Ramapul still recuperating from the ankle injury he picked up during the opening fixture of the Tri-series, Jason Holder has been handed another opportunity to prove his potential. Johnson Charles is expected to keep wickets as no other specialist wicket-keeper has been picked in the 13 member squad.
West Indies, who were knocked out of the home Tri-series well before the final, will be keen to rekindle the Caribbean spirit and return to their winning ways when they confront Mishbah’s men. West Indies’ Champions Trophy campaign that preceded their Tri-series mess-up also left a lot to be desired.
Guyana will host the first two ODI’s followed by 3 ODI’s at Beausejour Cricket Ground in St.Lucia. This series which also includes two T20 internationals marks the return of ODI’s to Guyana after a one year hiatus.
Squad: Dwayne Bravo(captain), Chris Gayle, Johnson Charles, Darren Bravo, Lendl Simmons, Marlon Samuels, Kieron Pollard, Devon Smith, Darren Sammy, Sunil Narine, Kemar Roach, Tino Best, Jason Holder.
