Ranji Trophy: Shreyas Gopal hits maiden century

Seamer Ashok Dinda picked up seven wickets for 87 runs to wrap up Karnataka for 408 in their first innings but Shreyas Gopal's maiden first-class century (145) stole the thunder from the hosts on the second day of their Ranji Trophy match at the Eden Gardens here on Monday.

In reply, Bengal lost opener Arindam Das to finish on 62 for 1, and trailed by 346 at stumps.

In Rohtak, Asish Hooda gave Haryana a slender 31-run lead, picking up five for 27 to bowl out Maharastra for 105, after witnessing his side post a mere 136 in a low-scoring match on a day where 18 wickets fell on a lively pitch.

In Cuttack, Bhargav Merai's unbeaten 87 gave Gujarat a comfortable 30-run lead with six wickets in hand after Odisha were bowled out for 225.
