Rahul went past Barrington Rolland's 283 to become his state’s highest run-scorer in the Indian domestic circuit. The 22-year-old got his big break recently and made full use of it by scoring a century in only his second Test, against Australia at Sydney.
Rahul needs 10 more runs to become the highest scorer ever against Uttar Pradesh in a first-class match. The record is currently with Kedar Jadhav who has scored 327.
While the rest of the top order failed, Shreyas Gopal, CM Gautam and Abrar Kazi chipped in with scores of 90, 51 and 71* respectively. Out-of-favour Indian seamer Praveen Kumar has been the pick of the bowlers for the visitors, grabbing 4 for 67 in his 30 overs.
6 matches into the season, Karnataka top the Group A points table with 4 wins and 2 draws, while Uttar Pradesh are at the bottom with only one win.
