Yuvraj Singh's poor form with the bat continued as Punjab suffered their loss of the season against Vidarbha in the second round of the Ranji Trophy.

Trailing by 344 runs at the start of the second innings, Punjab were bundled out for 226 to gift Vidarbha all 7 points.

Yuvraj's poor form with the bat has exacerbated his comeback plans as he failed the "yo=yo" fitness test as well.

Meanwhile, Dinesh Karthik, who was recently awarded a call-up to the Indian cricket team failed with the bat while his other Tamil Nadu teammates made merry. They have achieved a first-innings lead against Tripura having amassed 357 runs at the end of the third day.

Washington Sundar, who began the day at 156 was dismissed early on Day 3 while Baba Indrajith remains unbeaten on 89.

Bengal are closing in on a huge victory as well, as Mohammad Shami and Ashok Dinda make merry with the ball.

Dinda picked up seven wickets in the first innings to bowl Chattisgarh out for 110. Trailing by 419 runs, Chattisgarh ended the third day with 229 runs on the board. Shami was the pick of the bowlers as he picked up four wickets.

41-time champions Mumbai achieved a vital first-innings lead against Madhya Pradesh thanks to some useful partnerships lower down the order.
