Ranji Trophy Round 6, Day 2 Round up: Delhi thrash Maharashtra; Irfan Pathan takes 6
Delhi wrapped up Maharastra on the second day itself with some brilliant bowling performance to win their third consecutive match in a row. After 14 wickets going down on the first day, 17 wickets fell on the second day as Delhi chased down a target of only 27.

Almost every player scored for the Mumbai team as they posted a mammoth total of 610 runs first innings total in front of Uttar Pradesh. Shreyas Iyer (137) and Rohit Sharma (113) were the highest scorers in Mumbai’s line-up. Akhil Herwadkar, Suryakumar Yadav, Siddhesh Lad and Shardul Thakur were the respective half-centurions in Mumbai’s batting line-up.
UP’s bowlers had to sweat a lot at the humid Wankhede Stadium. Bhuvneshwar Kumar bowled a total of 23 overs for his two wickets, Piyush Chawla bowled 33 overs and Kuldeep Yadav was hammered for 165 runs in only 31 overs. Praveen Kumar had the best bowling figures for UP as he was successful in keeping it tight for Mumbai with his spell of 30-13-69-1.
In reply, UP’s openers Tanmay Srivastava and Himanshu Asnora gave their team a solid start and at the end of day 2, they were unbeaten on 31 and 20 runs respectively.

Bengal is dominating the proceedings against Vidarbha after making a solid 334 in the first innings. Vidarbha lost 7 wickets on the second day with just 141 on the board. Wasim Jaffer became the first batsman to reach the milestone of 10,000 runs in the Ranji Trophy during his knock for Vidarbha.

Irfan Pathan’s 6 wickets helped Baroda bowl out Gujarat on 505 runs in the first innings. The Indian bowler was getting help from the Vallabhbhai Patel Stadium pitch which troubled the Gujarat’s batsmen in the second day.
In reply, Baroda had a shaky start where they lost three quick wickets before stumps and had 82 runs on the board.
