Ranji Trophy: Wriddhiman Saha and Unmukt Chand star to put Bengal and Delhi in formidable positions

Saha made an unbeaten 129 to take Bengal to 312/7 at stumps from a precarious 68/4 at one stage

Kolkata, Jan 13: Bengal rode on wicket-keeper-batsman Wriddhiman Saha's exquisite 129 and Laxmi Ratan Shukla's 72 to reach 312/7 on day one of the Ranji Trophy game against Jammu and Kashmir here Monday. Less than 48 hours after returning from the gruelling tour to Australia, Saha rescued the Bengal innings after a poor start.

In Delhi, Unmukt Chand scored 117 to take Delhi to a formidable 248/5 Odisha at close on the opening day.

In another encounter at Nagpur, Vidarbha surged to 352 for three against Saurashtra, courtesy Ganesh Satish's blistering 167 and Faiz Fazal's 107 on the first day.
