Ravichandran Ashwin's subtle reply on India's Paralympics performances silences Pakistani national
Ace off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin is a man who fires away not only on the field but is also never short of words off it. The Tamil Nadu man is very active on Social Media, and has time and again floored people with his witty and sarcastic jibes.
This time, the wily off-spinner has taken on a Pakistan national who made derogatory comments at India's medal tally in the ongoing Paralympic Games in Rio de Janerio. India was made proud when Deepa Malik won a silver medal in the shot put event at the ongoing games. Accolades started flowing in for the athlete and many famous personalities took to Twitter to post congratulatory messages for the athlete.
Ashwin too took to Twitter as well and posted a brilliant message for Malik, and congratulated her for her stellar show.
However, a Pakistani national decided to respond this tweet with a sarcastic jibe and replied to the tweet.
Ashwin did not go haywire but kept calm and decided to lambast the person with a subtle yet effective reply.
The off-spinner was referring to Pakistan's position in the world population and reminding the user of his country's Rio Paralympics medal count – a single bronze.
The Indian contingent has put up a brilliant display in the ongoing games where they have won as many 4 medals so far. This includes 2 golds, 1 silver and 1 bronze.
It will be worth mentioning that during the Rio Olympics, a Pakistani journalist namely Omar R Quraishi mocked India’s performance when Sakshi Malik won a bronze. The Indian Twitterati responded with some unison and trolled the journalist with some aplomb. This list included even an eminent personality like Amitabh Bachchan.
