Ravichandran Ashwin turns journalist, asks Carlos Brathwaite question on the USA tour

Ashwin is usually the one responding to questions

The 4th Test of the India-West Indies series was a disappointing rain-washed affair, but one can always trust Ravichandran Ashwin to keep his sense of humour alive. Waiting to address the press, Ashwin posed as a journalist and asked a question to Carlos Brathwaite, who was representing West Indies at the same conference.

Brathwaite is going to lead West Indies in the two-match T20 series in Florida, United States, against India this weekend, in what will be his first assignment as captain. Throughout the press conference, Brathwaite was being asked questions about the captaincy role,  how he had reacted, how past captain Darren Sammy had reacted, and how he was planning to go about his job.

As the questions came to a close, Ashwin raised his hand and his voice was heard from a few rows back, asking, “What do you think of cricket going to the US and you playing India there? Would you be expecting India to receive more support or West Indies to receive more support?”

Brathwaite replied in the same tone that he had replied to all other questions, saying, “It’s funny because the US has a lot of Caribbean supporters and I think a few Caribbean people who used to like cricket but probably don’t follow it anymore would love to come out and enjoy some games in the US. Whether they will be supporting West Indies or india I don;t know, but I think it will be a very good spectacle.

From all reports, CPL had a fantastic ovation and it was well-received. And I hope this is the start of big things. We are next-door neighbours and the US is a powerhouse, so let’s see how it goes. We are testing the waters a bit, hopefully it goes well and hopefully this is the first of many in the USA.”

In other news, MS Dhoni and Jasprit Bumrah have boarded a plane for the USA to meet up with the rest of the squad who shall be travelling from the West Indies after the Test series. Bumrah uploaded a picture from the plane on the social media that shows him with the limited overs captain.
