Ravindra Jadeja taunts Suresh Raina about losing captaincy to Virat Kohli
According to a report in Indian Express, star all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja has taken a jibe at his fellow Chennai Super kings player, Suresh Raina, about losing captaincy to Virat Kohli during the last match against West Indies in Trinidad.
India won that match by 102-runs, wherein Jadeja and Raina had a heated argument seen by thousands on TV (Here’s the video). The incident happened after Jadeja dismissed West Indies batsman Sunil Narine in the 34th over.
Then, according to the Indian Express, Jadeja went up to Raina and taunted: “Because you’ve lost the captaincy, you’ve also lost interest in fielding?”
On TV, Jadeja was seen walking up to Raina and saying something, which the UP batsman didn’t like at all. Raina in turn retaliated, but before things went out of hand, skipper Virat Kohli intervened to cool down the fight.
It is understood that Jadeja was unhappy at Raina’s inability to judge a catch of Narine in his previous over.
Raina was the captain of the team last time India toured the West Indies in 2011. But this time around, when Dhoni was ruled out of his current series due to injury, it was Kohli who was appointed instead of Raina for the remainder of the series.
