RCB vs KKR Match Prediction: Who will win today's match between the Royal Challengers Bangalore and Kolkata Knight Riders, IPL 2017, Match 46
The season could not get any worse for the Royal Challengers Bangalore. Their batting has been in tatters throughout the tournament and Virat Kohli himself cannot explain the number of batting collapses that have occurred this season for his side.
They were officially knocked out of the tournament last week itself when the Rising Pune Supergiant defeated the Gujarat Lions. Fans expected to see a fearless brand of cricket against the Kings XI Punjab at the M Chinnaswamy stadium on May 6th but it was another terrible performance with the bat as RCB did not manage to chase down the total of 139 set by KXIP.
With only two games left to go for them, RCB would look to end the season on a strong note and will look to spoil the party for Gautam Gambhir’s Kolkata Knight Riders. Kohli and his men will look to get revenge for their embarrassing loss against KKR last time around when they were bowled out for the lowest score ever in IPL’s history.
However, they will have their task cut out as KKR have been one of the top sides of the tournament. Currently, 3rd on the points table having played one game lesser than the 2nd place Rising Pune Supergiant, KKR would be hoping to get back to winning ways after losing their previous match against the Delhi Daredevils.
Chris Lynn is on a comeback trail and we might see the destructive Australian back in the playing XI for the all important match. This could spell further trouble for RCB as Lynn was spectacular in the two matches he played for his side. KKR would also hope for Robin Uthappa to make a comeback in order to strengthen their middle order.
Date: May 7th
Venue: M Chinnaswamy stadium, Bengaluru

If RCB bat first
Prediction: 140+
Given their poor form with the bat and the nature of Bangalore’s pitch combined with KKR”s bowling strength, it does not look like RCB will get a lot of runs on the board. Chris Gayle, Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers have been in poor form and the trio would have to pull up their socks to give RCB a decent chance to get some good runs on the board.
If KKR bat first
Prediction: 160+
Despite a strong batting line-up, KKR too might find it hard to get a big total on the board if they bat first. The pitch at the Chinnaswamy has not been the batting paradise it once was and has suited the bowlers much more than the batsmen. However, a total of 160+ could be easily defended given their bowling strength.
Predicted winners: Kolkata Knight Riders, undoubtedly.
