Watch Video: Gunshots fired at Ravindra Jadeja's wedding

Reports from a leading Indian media house suggests that gunshots were heard during one of Ravindra Jadeja’s pre-marriage ceremonies. The Indian and Gujarat Lions all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja is set to get Rajkot-based engineer Riva Solanki on 17th April.

The ceremony had forced him to miss Saturday’s IPL match against Mumbai Indians at Wankhede. Gujarat Lions won the match by three wickets and are currently at the top of the points table with three wins out of three games. 

Earlier, after his engagement, Jadeja said that the arrival of Riva will help him do wonders on the cricket field. He said, "In the game of cricket luck plays an important role and when I am getting engaged to Riva, I hope that lady luck will help me to do better in both cricketing life and personal life,"

According to the reports, the cricketer’s close friends Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Suresh Raina, Dwayne Bravo along with other Indian team players will arrive in Rajkot on Sunday to attend the wedding.

Jadeja made his international debut in 2009 and since then has cemented his place in all the three formats. He was an instrumental part of Indian’s Champions Trophy-winning campaign in 2013.

The Southpaw was acquired by the newly formed Rajkot-based franchise in the IPL players' draft. Apart from his batting and bowling ability he also contributes with his excellent  athleticism on the field.  

The 27-year-old cricketer showcased his sword skills in front of the guests during his Sangeet ceremony last night.

According to a tweet from IBN, there was news of gunfire shorts during the marriage procession.
