Reports: Rahul Dravid to coach India's under-19 team

Rahul Dravid has done a terrific job at Rajasthan Royals

According to the reports, former Indian captain Rahul Dravid might get the India's under-19 head coach responsibility soon. After Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly, and VVS Laxman were inducted into Board of Control for Cricket in India's (BCCI) cricket advisory committee, Dravid's role in the Indian team was widely speculated.

A reliable cricket news website, ESPNcricinfo reported that India's cricket board has a role in mind for Dravid. BCCI's Secretary Anurag Thakur said that the announcement on the former Indian captain's role will be made soon.

"For any cricketer of that stature, BCCI would like to have their services. When the time comes, an announcement will be made. Not everybody can be on the same panel."

Rahul Dravid is currently mentoring the Rajasthan Royals' side in the Indian Premier League. He enjoys working with the young players there and has successfully brought up new players Karun Nair, Sanju Samson, and others under his mentorship.

Dravid hasn’t commented on any of the reports officially, but we can soon expect an official announcement from BCCI on his role. The 42-year-old has played 164 Test matches for India and has scored 13288 runs at an average of 52.31.
