Reports: Yuvraj Singh gets engaged to Hazel Keech
Cricketer Yuvraj Singh got engaged to girlfriend Hazel Keech on Wednesday, November 11 in Bali. as reported by DNA. Earlier this month there were reports that the couple will get engaged in November 2015 followed by a marriage in February next year.
The 33-year-old all-rounder had denied such reports by posting a funny tweet which requested media to decide his wedding date as well.
Essex born Hazel Keech has appeared in a couple of commercials, TV shows like Bigg Boss and Bollywood films. Yuvi and Hazel were spotted together a number of times, be it at Harbhajan Singh and Geeta Basra’s wedding or at a temple with the groom’s mother Shabnam Singh.
As per sources, the two were dating for a long time. A hint of this Diwali engagement was given by the all-rounder on Twitter when he and Bhajji were engaged in a light hearted conversation.
Yuvraj has always had a connection with Bollywood. Earlier, he dated actress Kim Sharma with whom he was ready to tie the knot. However, that never happened and it was reported that the cricketer’s mother did not give her consent for their marriage. Later, Shabnam rubbished such reports saying it was solely her son’s decision. The left-handed batsman was also linked with actress Deepika Padukone and Kings XI Punjab co-owner Preity Zinta.
Acording to reports, Yograj Singh, Yuvi’s father is quite happy with his son’s choice and feels that the marriage will bring back his son in Team India. He said, “I was introduced to her by Yuvraj and she is a very nice girl. I am confident that marrying her will change his fortunes and he will return to the national squad. He definitely has it in him to represent India. It is sad how Mahendra Singh Dhoni spoilt his international career. The same had happened to me when my friend Kapil Dev had destroyed my India career”.
Though time and again Yograj has blamed Dhoni for his son’s ouster from the team, Yuvi has always differed by saying, “I have got nothing to do with statements. I enjoyed playing under Dhoni.” The cricketer’s father also feels that more former cricketers should take up administrative roles in BCCI.
