Rio Olympics 2016: Sachin Tendulkar excited about the Summer Games

This will be the first time Sachin will be present in Olympics

“Master Blaster” Sachin Tendulkar is geared up for the Rio Olympics 2016 and it will be the first time the maestro will be present at a Summer Olympics. Sachin was invited by the International Olympic committee president Thomas Bach to travel to Rio along with eminent sports personalities.

Sachin tweeted a picture where he was posing in front of the Christ - the Redeemer in Rio de Janeiro, the city which is given the rights to host the Olympics 2016. He didn’t forget to mention that how beautiful the city became due to this mega event.

His trip to Rio come amidst speculations that cricket could become a part of this event from the 2024 edition. Sachin, being a goodwill ambassador for IOA met the Rio-bound Indian wrestling contingent – comprising Narsingh Yadav, Vinesh Phogat, Babita Kumari, Sakshi Malik, Ravinder Khatri, and Hardeep.

He later posted photos and videos on his official Facebook page, profiling the athletes who qualified for the Olympic games.

Sachin has been enjoying his life away from cricket and has been visiting different places and spending time with his family. The maestro retired from all forms of international cricket in November 2013. Playing his farewell match in front of his home crowd, Sachin showed glimpses of his class scoring a stroke-filled 74.

The greatest batsman of all time Sachin finished his career with 100 international centuries, a feat which may not be achieved again.

Post his retirement Sachin appeared in the bicentenary celebration match which marked the 200th birth anniversary of the iconic ground The Lord’s. Sachin was also involved in promoting cricket in America by organising an All-Star series comprising of all great players from the yester years.

Tendulkar is also set to make his debut in the field of digital gaming through the launch of his official game “Sachin Saga”. The game will be an icing on the cake for all die hard Sachin Tendulkar fans who had missed him terribly ever since the master hung up his boots 3 years earlier.

Though the fans won’t be able to see the legend in action again, but somehow they will be able to restore his cricketing journey and play as Sachin via the game. The game is expected to be launched in 4-5 months time from now.
