Rio Olympics 2016: Virender Sehwag wishes Indian gymnast Dipa Karmakar on her birthday
Virender Sehwag is proving to be every bit as entertaining after his retirement from the game as he was while playing it. If it was his shots with the bat while playing, it is now his entertaining birthday wishes.
The latest to join the long list of famous personalities is India’s Olympic gymnast Dipa Karmakar, who qualified for the vault final at Rio Olympics 2016 after finishing 8th with a score of 14.850. The 37-year-old used his unique style to wish the Indian gymnast on her 23rd birthday.
Here is his tweet wishing Dipa Karmakar:
Happy Birthday #DipaKarmakar

What started out as tweets wishing cricketers that he has played with and against, has now become a tradition as his tweet. Everytime an Indian cricketer's birthday comes up, Virender Sehwag's Twitter handle has been something to watch out for.
It now seems as though it is not just cricketers as one of India's biggest Olympic medal hopes and a pioneer in Indian gymnastics became the latest recipient of the former Indian opener’s unique Twitter birthday wish.

What has made Karmakar's story one of the most interesting at the 2016 Rio Olympics is not only the fact that she is the first woman gymnast to represent India at the Olympics or the fact that she has made it to the vault finals but simply what paved the way for her qualification and what she plans to do.
When she attempted the Produnova vault and won a medal in the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, she caught the attention of not just India but the world. One of the reasons why Dipa’s story is so compelling is the fact that she is attempting the Produnova, which has a difficulty rating of 7.0 – the highest of all vaults.
The fact that not many attempt the vault and till date only five women have succeeded at it, speaks for just how difficult it is. One of them is the woman behind the vault herself, Russia’s Yelena Produnova.
The reception for his latest tweet about India’s Olympic sensation was certainly amusing, much like his previous ones and one certainly hopes that he continues with his unique style of wishes.
