Rising Pune Supergiants (RPS): Book IPL 2016 Tickets
IPL 2016 started on 9 April 2016 with Pune playing the opening match against Mumbai. Rising Pune Supergiants made its IPL debut this year. Rising Pune Supergiants along with Gujarat Lions replaced Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals. These two teams will be playing the IPL for two years only.
Rising Pune Supergiants had a great opening game against Mumbai Indians. They could not replicate the same against Gujarat Lions though. Even with that defeat, Rising Pune Supergiants are still one of the favourites to reach the final of IPL 2016, which will be played on 29 May 2016.
Pune will play their home games in Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium, Pune. It is a relatively new stadium (2012 marks the year of establishment) and has a capacity of 36,000. The construction is unique. You will always get an unobstructed view from every location. If you are in Pune, this is the place to be if you want to get the best out of a cricket match.
This is the second team from Pune (Pune Warriors India being the previous team). Pune always enjoyed a strong support at their home ground and the fans will be pleased that IPL has returned to Pune. The next home game for Rising Pune Supergiants is on 22 April 2016.
Average first innings score at the MCA stadium is 151. That will surely change this year, thanks to RPS’s awe-inspiring batting line-up. Many even tip it as one of the best in IPL this year. MS Dhoni will captain Rising Pune Supergiants. This man needs no introduction; he is one of the best wicketkeepers in the cricketing world. The Pune team has three T20I captains – Faf du Plessis, Steven Smith and MS. Dhoni. All these three players are match winners. These players can change the outcome of any match. Do not forget Kevin Peterson. He was terrific in the Big Bash league. He had a decent first game too. If he can keep this momentum going, he will be very difficult to stop; that is a good thing for Rising Pune Supergiants.
In the bowling department, they have some big names such as R. Ashwin, Ishant Sharma, and Albie Morkel. They will be looking to take early wickets. All eyes will be on M. Ashwin. Pune roped in this youngster during the IPL auction. Pune paid 4.5 crore rupees to secure the services of this fine player. His first two games were excellent; he would be hoping that the same would continue. Rajat Bhatia will be handy as well. Stephen Fleming will coach the side. He has been one of the most successful coaches in IPL history.
