Robin Uthappa slams double ton
Bangalore, July 17 (IANS) Robin Uthappa warmed up for the new season with an unbeaten 223 (276b, 25×4, 4×6) as KSCA XI piled up 393 for two in 94 overs against Jharkhand CA on the opening day of the Safi Darashah trophy all-India cricket tournament here Wednesday.
Elsewhere, Haryana CA scored 358 for five in 100.5 overs against KSCA President’s XI with half-centuries by Abhimanyu Kooda (80), Sunnay Singh (74), Prateek Panwar (61 batting) and Jayanth Yadav (50) against Saurashtra CA.
As per the new format of the tournament, all matches will be played over four days. Each team gets to bat 120 overs in the first innings and 60 in the second. In case a team is all out in the first innings within the allotted quota, the remaining overs will be carried forward to the second.
Points are also on offer for first innings lead and outright wins in a bid to sustain interest over all the four days.
