Meanwhile, Indian Cricketer Rohit Sharma expressed his views about Ravi Shastri and also said that he is going to “miss Shastri” in the future. Ravi Shastri was in the news recently for his bold comments, accusing Sourav Ganguly of being “disrespectful.”

As per the reports during in an interaction at the “Express Adda”, Rohit Sharma praised highly of the former Team Director Ravi Shastri, who was in charge of the team for 18 months. As soon as he came, he created a positive atmosphere around us.” He also added that Shastri, “took up the responsibility when we were in shambles.”

Rohit Sharma also informed everyone that he was pretty pleased with having Anil Kumble as the new coach of the Indian National Team. He also added, “I have two years of experience at Mumbai Indians and I know the kind of things we spoke about. I was the captain and he was the coach and mentor of the team. I got to learn a lot from him. Kumble would tell the Mumbai Indians to never give up till the end. You have to keep fighting no matter what. If the game is slipping away from you, don’t give up till the last ball is bowled.” It shows how inspiring Anil Kumble is, which is going to be the key factor when they tour the likes of Australia, England, and South Africa.

One of the most highlighted events during Ravi Shastri’s reign was producing turning tracks for extracting home advantage in the Test Series against South Africa. Throwing some light into the matter Rohit Sharma supported the cause and felt that it was a fair way of pushing for home advantage. The third test of the particular test series which was held in Nagpur drew the attention of the ICC. The match ended in three days, mainly due to the assistance the spinners got from the pitch and was given an official warning by the ICC.

Rohit Sharma was pretty casual about his approach about the matter. He quoted that, “As a group, as Team India, we decided that we wanted to dominate this series and the first way of domination was to use our home advantage, which every team does around the world. We go to Australia; they are not going to give us what we want. They will prepare pitches according to what they want. South Africa, England, anywhere you go.”

India will be travelling to the Caribbean for a four-test series against the West Indies, which is going to be Anil Kumble's first assignment as the coach of the Indian Cricket Team. With the West Indies team lying in 8th spot according to the latest ICC Test Rankings above Bangladesh and Zimbabwe, Kohli-led India would definitely be eyeing an overseas Test-Series triumph.
