New Zealand batsman Ross Taylor came out as the biggest winner in the annual New Zealand Cricket Awards function for the 2013-14 season, held at Auckland, New Zealand.

The dashing middle order batsman topped all the charts that he had been nominated in. Taylor was named as the Test player of the year and ODI player of the year, besides being given the ‘Redpath Cup’ for his monumental efforts with the bat in the 2013-14 season.

New Zealand captain Brendon McCullum was given a special presentation for becoming the first New Zealand cricketer to score triple century in a Test match. McCullum recently scored 302 in a Test match against India in Wellington and helped his team register a series victory.

Former New Zealand cricketer David White said that he considers Ross Taylor as one of the greatest Kiwi batsman to have ever played the game.

The left-arm pacer Mitchell McClenaghan won the Twenty20 player of the year award, while Suzie Bates was named the women’s international player of the year for both the seasons.
