“RR boys” – Ravindra Jadeja reacts hilariously to Sanju Samson’s Instagram post

India all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja reacted hilariously to Sanju Samson’s latest Instagram post on Saturday, July 6. The reaction came as Samson expressed his gratitude to fans for welcoming them back home after the 2024 T20 World Cup glory.

Sharing several snapshots from India’s victory parade and the felicitation ceremony in Mumbai on Instagram, Samson captioned the post:

“Memories for a lifetime!! Thank you India, Thank you Mumbai."

Notably, Samson didn’t get a game in the 2024 T20 World Cup as Rishabh Pant was the preferred wicketkeeper for the Men in Blue. The right-hander managed just one run off six balls against Bangladesh in the only practice match. Samson, however, has 374 runs in 25 matches at a strike rate of 133.09, including a half-century, in T20Is.

The Rajasthan Royals (RR) captain amassed 531 runs in 15 matches at a strike rate of 153.47, including five half-centuries.

“He may get opportunities at number three” – Saba Karim on Sanju Samson’s T20I future

Former India cricketer Saba Karim believes that Sanju Samson will get opportunities at number three during the T20I series in Zimbabwe. Speaking to Sony Sports (via Cricket Addicator), the cricketer-turned-commentator said:

“He has done well in patches. He may get some more opportunities at number three. There is a strong possibility that they may want to bring him back down the order. So, there are a number of options available, but I think yes, if Sanju Samson gets to play five T20Is here, then at least going forward, if he does well, then he'll get many more opportunities at that number because he is rich in talent."
"He's got loads of experience now. He led the RR side quite well last season in the IPL, so there are some great challenges ahead for Samson,” Karim added.

The Kerala-born wicketkeeper-batter has been rested for the first two matches of the ongoing five-game T20I series in Zimbabwe. Samson, Shivam Dube, and Yashasvi Jaiswal will join the India squad for the Zimbabwe series ahead of the last three T20Is.
