Sachin Tendulkar 200* (147) - 24 February, 2010: A Statistical Analysis
Sachin Tendulkar, on 24th February 2010, scored the first ever double century in the history of Men's One Day International Cricket. The venue was the Captain Roop Singh Stadium in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh and the opposition was South Africa. He managed to reach the historic landmark off 147 balls in the final over the Indian innings.
Before him, Belinda Clark of Australia had already scored 229* (155) in Women's ODIs vs Denmark at Mumbai in 1997.

# Sachin Tendulkar overcame the record of scoring most number of fours (25) in an ODI inning. Previous record was of 22 fours by Saeed Anwar in his 194 vs India in 1997. However now the record is held by Rohit Sharma with 33 fours in his score of 264 (173).
# Sachin Tendulkar scored his 5th 150+ score in ODIs to become the player with most number of 150+ score in ODIs which was previously equalled with Sanath Jayasuriya (4).
# Sachin Tendulkar overcame Ricky Ponting's 164 as the highest individual score against South Africa in ODIs.
After Sachin Tendulkar's double century, there have been 4 more double centuries in ODIs and all by Indians - Sehwag 219 vs WI, 2011, Rohit Sharma 209 vs Aus, 2013, Rohit Sharma 264 vs SL, 2014 and Gayle 215 vs ZIM.
