In India, cricket is considered as a religion and Sachin as the 'God' of Indian cricket. He has been known for his calm nature and has always controlled his emotions on the field.
But there have been moments when Sachin failed to keep his emotions in check. Let us take a look at those moments when Sachin got emotional on the field.
#5 2nd Test against New Zealand, Napier (1990)
This was Sachin's first away tour outside Subcontinent and it was a litmus test for him in New Zealand conditions. India had lost the first Test by 10 wickets.
The second Test was at Napier and India had decided to bat first after winning the toss. The first day of the Test was completely washed out, and the match finally started on day two. Sachin batted brilliantly and remained unbeaten at 80 at the end of the third day's play.
When Sachin came out to bat on the fourth morning, he was eyeing his first Test century. Unfortunately, he was dismissed on 88 by Danny Morrison, and the catch was taken by John Wright.
Sachin was completely heartbroken as he walked back to the pavilion. He could not control his tears and was devastated by the fact that he missed out on scoring his first century.
