Sachin watches the World T20 Semi-final between India and West Indies in Mumbai

For a man who has scored more than 34,000 international runs across all formats of cricket, you would think that facing the camera and reliving his story should be a simple task. However, the iconic Sachin Tendulkar has revealed that acting was more challenging for him when compared with batting in front of thousands of ardent supporters.

IBNLive reported the 42-year old speaking about the upcoming movie based on his sensational career. The teaser of ‘Sachin the Film’ was released on Thursday afternoon and the stalwart shared the first-cut on both Twitter and Facebook.

Interacting with the media persons on the sidelines of the launch of the IDBI Federal Life Insurance Marathon, Sachin felt, “For so many years, I did whatever I wanted to do and camera captured that. But then suddenly, I was asked to do particular things, and then camera captured that.”

‘200 Not Out’, a Mumbai-based production outlet had roped in famous documentary writer and director James Erskine of London to wield the megaphone. AR Rahman, the ‘Mozart of Madras’ is composing music for the film.

Named as brand ambassador of the IDBI Marathons which will take place in Mumbai, New Delhi and Kolkata, Tendulkar affirmed, "That was a bit difficult thing for me. But, believe me the first option was a better option. Acting is not something which I dreamt of. Without any doubt it is more challenging for me than playing cricket, I enjoyed that more.”

Often walking into the middle of the crease with a billion expectations riding on his broad shoulders, Sachin holds the record for the most runs as well as centuries in both Tests and ODIs in a 24-year career which was marked by staggering consistency.

Debuting as a cherubic 16-year old in Pakistan against a dangerous bowling attack, he metamorphosed into a complete batsman countering all types of bowlers on different pitches across the world.

The documentary is expected to present a comprehensive insight on Sachin’s unflinching temperament and his fabled work-ethic.
