Sachin Tendulkar humbled by a fan gesture on Twitter

Sachin Tendulkar, arguably the greatest ever batsman to have played the game took to Twitter to thank one of his fans after the latter had posted a nostalgic incident on the social media platform.

Ever since he entered the cricketing arena he has been an inspiration for all. The way he conducted himself on and off the field was simply exemplary and an entire generation of cricket fans and lovers grew up watching his game as this was the epitome to them.

His impact was such in the country that fans started calling cricket as their religion and Sachin as their god. A cricket page called Cricketopia posted their fan moment on Twitter.

Cricketopia posted a Tweet mentioning him – ‘@sachin_rt #MaidenCentury From getting his maiden autograph to this very day, I’ve always loved & admired him.’

They managed to get a ticket from the England vs India match in 1990 where Tendulkar scored his first Test century and it was autographed by the master himself.

Tendulkar has always enjoyed the love and support he received from his fans during his career and even beyond that and has always acknowledged that it’s the constant support and prayers from the fans that has kept him going for 24 years.

As soon as Tendulkar came across the tweet said that such lovely gestures from his fans have kept him going from the start of his career to the day when he is a retired cricketer. Even after his retirement the “Little Master” is still one of the most loved cricketers not only in India but all around the world.

Sachin Tweeted quoting the original post and wrote – ‘Gestures like these have kept me going right from my #MaidenCentury till date. Thanks for the love all these years!’

The “Mumbaikar” played his last Test in front of his home crowd in the year 2012. After retiring from all forms of cricket Tendulkar participated in the bicentenary celebration match at Lord’s which marked the 200th year of the iconic ground. Besides that Sachin along with Shane Warne also took the initiative to popularize cricket in the US by conducting the inaugural All-Star series comprising many former greats of the game.
