Sachin Tendulkar should retire, says Ganguly
Former India captain Sourav Ganguly has made the biggest controversial statement, suggesting that Sachin Tendulkar should hang his boots.
Ganguly and Tendulkar have always shared a good relationship since the former made his debut, but the former India captain feels that the Little Master has achieved enough and it’s time that he announces his retirement.
Sachin, like most of his team mates, has been going through a rough patch, averaging 25 this year and his 76 in the previous test being his only half century in the past 11 months.
Ganguly said:
“Sachin desperately needs to get runs. He has achieved a lot. He is getting a long rope because of what he has achieved.
“By now he should know how to turn it around. As somebody watching it from outside, Tendulkar is not performing and I think if I were Tendulkar, I would go (retire).
“But it’s up to him at the present moment. We want to see the great man going with a bat held high and not in terrible form.”
The fourth test begins in Nagpur on Thursday and Ganguly has called for Sachin’s retirement after that test match.
