Sachin Tendulkar to be Mumbai Indians captain

Sachin Tendulkar is all set to be re-instated as captain of Mumbai Indians for the 6th edition of the IPL.  Current captain Harbhajan Singh has reportedly quit the captaincy and there were reports that Rohit Sharma might take over the charge of the Mumbai franchise. However, Tendulkar has become a clear favorite and reportedly will be handed  over the reins again.

Tendulkar had been the captain of Mumbai Indians for the first three seasons of the IPL since the first edition of the T20 tournament. He left the post in 2011 during the Champions Trophy and Harbhajan Singh was appointed as the new leader. Harbhajan Singh led the team to victory in the Champions League T20 and also captained them in last IPL. However, the team came under severe criticism for their on field behaviour and ended at the bottom of the fair play trophy.

The Mumbai team recently appointed Anil Kumble as the chief mentor with John Wright as head coach.
