Sachin Tendulkar will not retire after 200th Test

Sachin has no plans to retire

Ever since the news of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) outlining the possibilities of a bilateral series between India and West Indies broke out, there have been widespread speculations around stating that the series has been scheduled as a farewell game to Sachin Tendulkar, with his 200th Test at Wankhede.

But a very close friend of Tendulkar has put an end to all these rumours. Speaking to Hindustan Times, he said: “He hasn’t put a full stop on anything yet. He will take a call on touring England next year for the five Tests after the tours of South Africa, and maybe New Zealand. Don’t be surprised if he goes to England next July too.”

However, he did concede that this would be Tendulkar’s last home series. His friend and former team-mate said: “I’m pretty certain he is not looking forward to the next home season. So, yes, the Tests against West Indies will be his last at home. And though BCCI is forced to stage these Tests because so much money is at stake, they have spoken to Sachin and MCA to organise a final home Test.”
