Sanjay Manjrekar's stinging criticism of India's all-rounders
India have had a dearth of quality all-rounders, and Gurkeerat Singh and Rishi Dhawan are only the two latest players being tried out by the management to try and fill this void on the ongoing tour of Australia.
However, Sanjay Manjrekar has not been very impressed the new entrants in the squad, and let his opinion on the matter be know through a few tweets.
Reacting to the way Gurkeerat bowled in the 5th ODI, when he was bowled for 2 overs in which he conceded 17 runs, Manjrekar opined that his quality of bowling was not much better than the specialist batsmen in India’s ranks, like Rohit Sharma and Suresh Raina.
If that kind of off spin makes Gurkeerat an allrounder, then Rohit & Raina are all rounders.

Not only that, Manjrekar had been dissatisfied with the all-rounders’ batting efforts in the 4th ODI as well. He had claimed Dhawan and Gurkeerat had been too rash in their shot selection, while Ravindra Jadeja had been too circumspect.
Gurkeerat & Rishi Dhawan need to be told early in their career that when its 6 runs per over, you can get it without trying to slog sixes.

Disappointed a bit with Ravindra Jadeja, seemed more intent on staying not out than trying to win the game.
