Satire: The CricKITE Festival!

“Got one, need to find more!”

As India celebrates the festival of  kite-flying, our beloved cricket heroes did the same. Here are the events that might have taken place.

1. Kamran Akmal could not even fly his kites, he dropped them.

2. MSD was upset because he could not fly his kite well and could not blame the conditions.

3. Manoj Tiwary’s kite read “Home is where the Bench is”.

4. English fans were caught using Vaseline to help them fly their kites better.

5. Sunil Gavaskar was angry with many people flying kites because they backed up too far and flew kites with the wrong hand.

6. Bhajji’s kites were keeping an eye on those of Ashwin’s which were pausing every minute.

7. Rohit Sharma did not fly kites, he is too talented to waste his time trying to prove it.

8. Rahul Dravid won the award for the safest flyer because he allowed all kites to fly past him and was the only one who flew them till the end.

9. Ashok Dinda was so enthusiastic for his kites that he kept jumping regularly to watch their progress.

10. Trott was left stranded, since by the time everyone flew their kites and went home, Trott was still busy, marking his guard.

11. Zaheer Khan‘s kites could not fly high because they had to be retracted due to injury-scares at regular intervals.

12. SL team won the competition but could not take the award because they had not decided on the captain of their kite-flying team.

13. SA team was caught arguing over the score of their kites in rainy conditions.

14. Yuvraj’s kite flew well and high on medium pace but later could not adjust to the spin.

15. Sir Ravi Jadeja won the award for flying kites at triple the normal height, that too twice, in the flat sky.

16. Shahid Afridi won the award for being the youngest kid to fly kites.

17. Stuart Broad appealed every time a kite came closer.

18. Mahela Jayawardene struggled to fly kites outside Sri Lanka.

19. Brad Hodge and Badrinath won the awards for being the best Domestic kite flyers.

20. Ajmal kept flying the Doosra kites.
