Sachin Tendulkar shows his support for Yuvraj Singh
Sachin Tendulkar, on Monday, expressed his sadness over the criticism that Yuvraj Singh has had to face after last night’s World T20 final in Mirpur.
The 40-year-old legend reminded fans that Yuvraj’s contributions to Indian cricket shouldn’t be forgotten because of one bad day in the middle. Yuvraj was the man of the tournament at the 50-overs World Cup in 2011, where Tendulkar realised his lifelong dream of winning the World Cup.
Since then, the southpaw from Punjab has had to endure some tough times as a battle with cancer – which he heroically won – ensured that he had to take some time away from the game. Since returning to international cricket, Yuvraj’s performances have been below par.
Yuvraj scored 11 from 21 balls last night as Sri Lanka beat India by 6 wickets to win their first ICC World T20 title. Many blamed India’s loss on Yuvraj’s slow innings and some fans even went to the extent of pelting stones at his house in Chandigarh.
