Sehwag and Gambhir come out in support of Arun Jaitley
Delhi and India stalwarts, Virender Sehwag and Gautam Gambhir, have backed the former Delhi and Districts Cricket Association (DDCA) president and the incumbent Finance Minister of India, Mr. Arun Jaitley, over the recent controversy of him being involved in the corrupt practices that took place in the board during his 13-year reign which ended in 2013.
The two veteran batsmen used Twitter to express their solidarity and support for Jaitley through a series of tweets. While Sehwag said that the former president was always available for the players at any time, as opposed to some of the other DDCA members, Gambhir went a step further and called the ex-players’ accusations against the politician as ‘appalling.’
Sehwag remembered the days when he was associated with the association, and recalled that whenever there was any undue advantage given to any of the players, all he had to do was inform the then president and corrective measures would immediately be taken to provide justice to all players.
Gambhir called the allegations of corruption as ‘inappropriate’ and said that Jaitley was the one responsible for getting Delhi a proper cricket stadium in the first place.

The most vocal of the critics, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), has levelled the charges of financial irregularities, siphoning off money through fake companies and undue favours during team selection. However, the DDCA has time and again, rubbished the charges and has termed them as baseless.
The association’s working president Chetan Chauhan offered a point by point rebuttal of all the charges while also clearly demarcating the expenses incurred during Feroz Shah Kotla’s renovation and thereby asserting that were no financial compromises.
The support from Sehwag and Gambhir comes as a massive boost for the tainted cabinet minister, who was nevertheless unfettered by the scheme of things, as he said that the case was a part of ‘propaganda technique’ to deflect th
