Shah Rukh Khan given a clean chit from the Mumbai police regarding the Wankhede brawl incident
The Mumbai Police have given a clean chit to Shah Rukh Khan, the Bollywood superstar in regards to the Wankhede stadium incident that took place during IPL 2012. The Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) co-owner was involved in a brawl at the stadium after the end of KKR’s game against the Mumbai Indians wich resulted in a ban by the Mumbai Cricket Association from entering the stadium after the incident.
The Mumbai police have informed a metropolitan magistrate's court that there are no 'cognisable offence' against Shah Rukh Khan. As reported in India Today a police report filed in the court recently, stated, "After the investigation, it was found that no cognisable offence had taken place."
Earlier, regarding the incident, a private complaint was filed in the court by a local activist. He wanted action to be taken against the Chak De! India star for abusing security personnel of the Wankhede stadium.
In the report, the police also informed that they recorded Khan's statement in which he denied any allegations. The actor told the Mumbai police that after his team's victory against the Mumbai Indians, his children and their friends entered the ground premises when the security Vikas Dalvi asked them to leave.
Khan confronted Dalvi and told him that the children were accompanying him on the field and nobody should touch them. Khan's business manager then proceeded to lead the children out of the stadium. The 50-year-old star got infuriated when Dalvi spoke to him in an indecent language.
Previously in 2012, Amit Maru, the social activist, had filed the petition against Khan in the High Court. The actor went on to comment that Maru might have filed the complaint only to gain some publicity. However, the court 's verdict went in Shah Rukh Khan's favour.

Last year a certain section in the Mumbai Cricket Association wanted that the five-year ban to be lifted a couple of years earlier since SRK has already served a substantial period of it (three years) 'respectfully' without trying to enter the stadium at any stage. Eventually, the ban, which was supposed to end in 2017, was lifted in 2015.
Shah Rukh Khan, who has a busy schedule, manages to be present at most of KKR's matches during the Indian Premier League to watch his side play. However, he has not set foot at the Wankhede since his ban in 2012.
