ICC T20 World Cup 2016: Shahid Afridi hits back at the journalists in his official facebook page

Afridi lashes out at the journalists

Flamboyant Pakistan all-rounder Shahid Afridi lashes out at his critics and the journalists after they heavily criticized the Pakistan skipper for his comments. Afridi in a press conference said that the love he and his team had received in India was more than what they got in Pakistan

In a Facebook post, Afridi retorted:

If we demanded peace instead of another television set, then there would be peace in the world. Alas some journalist are born to deliberately misinterpret an innocent statement. Be positive, be true!

The series of events started after the mercurial all-rounder made comments about the amount of love they receive in India. But he was not spared for his comments as the critics and the journalists unleashed a barrage of tweets against his statement. Some of them were hilarious too.

Pakistan arrived in India to play the T20 World Cup after a series of events which took place in their country. There was a concern about the safety of the Pakistan team in India and it was for security reasons that their match against India was shifted to Kolkata from Dharamshala.

Afridi when asked about his concern for security, said, “I am in the last stage of my career and I can say that the love I have got in India is something that I will always remember. We have not got this much love even from Pakistan." His fellow countrymen didn’t like the statement and they launched a scathing attack on Afridi soon after.

But the man from Peshawar surely knows how to counter his critics.
