Shahzaib provisionally suspended by PCB over alleged anti-corruption code violations

Shahzaib Hasan is the latest player to be provisionally suspended by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) after being charged with violating its anti-corruption code.

The former Pakistan batsman, who made the last of his 13 international appearances in 2010, is alleged to have breached three articles of the PCB code and has a fortnight to respond to the charges.

Pakistan internationals Mohammad Irfan, Sharjeel Khan and Khalid Latif have also been provisionally suspended as part of an investigation related to the Pakistan Super League.

A PCB statement released on Friday said: "The Pakistan Cricket Board has today issued Shahzaib Hasan a notice of charge and provisionally suspended him with immediate effect from participating in all forms of cricket."

The alleged breaches of the code by Shahzaib relate to "directly or indirectly soliciting, inducing, enticing, instructing, persuading, encouraging or intentionally facilitating" corruption and failing to report approaches to both himself and others.
